Hybrid clubs seem to be all the rage these days, and the new Nike VR Pro hybrid certainly seems to have got players excited that have tried it out.

Nike say it is an upgrade to a previous model, designed with a new club face that makes it more than 20 per cent sweeter, so that the ball flies faster from more of the face.

A compression channel has been added to the sole, allowing the face to flex evenly wherever the ball is hit, so it is more forgiving when the ball is hit off-centre. Apparently, this feature has also been added to the fairway wood and driver in the new VR Pro range.

The sole has also been designed to be flatter to help nip the ball off tight lies and Nike say this makes the transition from irons easier to manage.
